WEEKEND 12-13.12.09----DREAM WEEKEND TO REMEMBER FOREVER!!!!

What to say and how to start..it was just fantastic weekend, fun with friends, lot of extreme job before shows to get dogs as stunning as can and then at show place to get everything going as well as can, and lots of happy unforgettable moments in ring then!!! And the spectacular Nordic Winner show ended in such a way to us, that it was just like in wildest dreams!!!
These were the two biggest one day show organized in the world so far, around 8500 in each, Finnish Winner show on Saturday and Nordic Winner show on Sunday.
On Saturday it was 63 ESS entries under Paula Heikkinen-Lehkonen. Our team did a great job all in all, in males 'Vellu' Adamant's Ivor Novello won hard champion class and was best Finnish ESS male as 2. best male with res CACIB! Congrats to Hanna!
Also junior male 'Torsti' Adamant's Back to Basics did well, as he was 2. in Junior class with exc, congrats to Marina!
'Doris' Goldmoore's Make It Happen was nicely exc2 in junior class, Gloria won intermediate class with exc and then it was time to champion class with 14 beautiful bitches...Sophie showed best out of her and is back in her most glorious coat and fitness and she won all the class! 'Fairy' Adamant's So far So Good followed and was 2. in this big quality class! Then it was time for best bitch competition and Sophie and Fairy took a double win in that!!! Later on Sophie went to win even BOB! and she took FinW-09 title to her credit. We thought that it is such a long and hard weekend, so we left her out of our breeders group this day, and the other girls presented our group and it was BOB with a super critique.
Sophie was a dream to handle in Group final, too, and what a great achievement it was when she took 2. place in hard group competition!! Group judge was Eva Mjelde, Norway.

Next day it was 57 ESS entries under Eva Mjelde in Nordic Winner show. From our two entered males Zeta Adamant's Lucky Strike was now the one, who won Champion class and best Finnish ESS male and was 2. best dog winning res CACIB!
Then it was time for girls to enter the ring, and Doris went to win big Junior class and took Nordic Junior Winner-09 title to her credit!!
Gloria won again intermediate class, Sophie won the huge Champion class again and now sister Pamela Adamant's Let em Talk followed her being 2. in that class. Fairy did also excellent job and was 4. in that class, 3. place went to Sweden.
Sophie won again bitches and Pamela followed her and was 2. best bitch and Doris settled enough to take a honourable placement as 3. best bitch and took CC!!!

Sophie won again BOB and took now Nordic Winner-09 title to her credit.
Now during bitches were being judged I begun to plan who will be the team of our breeders group today. The first question was to think that who would be able to be in the show till late night when honour ring is going on, in case that IF we would first win the breed. When I saw 'Lady' Adamant's Take This Dance in the ring, she looked so beautiful and suddenly I got the idea which 4 would look best together out of our team on that day..the question was just that Lady lives some ...hmmm 700+ kilometers from Helsinki and I can not excpect anyone to stay and then drive over night that lot. When I asked Lady owners, their super sportmanship attitude was so great; they immediately said that of course they will stay if I want Lady..then it was easy to decide that we will stay, show our group proudly as presenting the breed in honour ring and we will show there the best combination of 4, that we can on that day..so we decided to take also Sophie, even if she would win BOB also that day and had to continue in FCI8 group.

It was entered some 500 different breeder groups in this show, of which about nearly 160 were Best of Breed groups, and they were qualified to be shown in honour ring. When a lot of breeder groups has to go in to final ring, even if it was big, it is impossible to have them there same time all. So judge had to check them in pre judging ring so carefully, that he can choose and say to steward the 14 best finalists..and then all do run in to final ring, but when they were running only those 14 best finalists were picked quickly up for stay to be judged further. Judge came from Sweden, Dan Ericsson, and he judged all that lot in pre judging very carefully and went through all 3 times and even moved them all as a group.
Nothing could be guessed from his face when he was walking around, watching, giving every group same time and attention. And even when he told steward which 14 will later continue, we could not see or hear a bit if we were chosen or not. Very professional all his judging there indeed!

So when our turn to run in to honour ring came, we still thought (..or at least I thought!) may be it will be just a round there like it will be to the most of groups. We were so happy when steward showed hand mark for us to stay. Then 14 finalists had to run around again before final choices of judge.
When BIS-4,3,2 were already published , there still was standing 11 stunning groups and I was searching with my eyes where is the door to run out, as I did not expect we would be BEST IN SHOW BUT THE LOUD SPEAKERS TOLD ADAMANT'S ENGLISH SPRINGER SPANIELS ARE THE WINNERS!!!! Feeling on that moment was something REALLY special, hard to describe, happiness, suprised, shocked, freezing, tears of luck...and it was hard to get orientation where should we run, what should we do..even if we had won Best In Show breeders class in another huge show just a couple of weeks ago, too, but though!!! Thanks you everyone who made this possible. it was indeed a dream to come true and you all who showed in the group, made all such a fantastic job with superb attitude, and special thanks to Ladys owners, who impressed me so much with their attitude to stay and drive then some 10+ hours in the night..that gave me extra power to plan how do we collect the group and show it to it's benefit in every way.

Sophie went after that unforgettable BIS breeder win in to collecting ring of FCI8 group, judge there was Elina Tan-Hietalahti.
Sophie still run nicely enough in final ring and went happily to take again a honourable placement, now BIG-4!!! When I left show ground with my dogs, hall 5 was nearly empty and time over 8.pm...so totally tired but so extremely happy, that all those tens of hours (well, and all my 33 year breeding years job behind this group..)I have spent with getting dogs as pretty as I can, were all worth of doing indeed!!!

Tampere Independence Day's show 6.12.09

In this show well known judge Juha Kares of Chix Choix fame was judging first time ESS. Our Sophie started finally see like she will be back in her top form after October season, and it was a pleasure to show her as she was doing everything by HerSelf. Result was that she took her 46. BOB win and later on great BIG-3 placement in very hard group competition under Marjo Jaakkola.
The great brrod bitch behind all breeding stock I currenty have, 'Saara' Adamant's Summer Fantasy, was also entered after 2 years show break, to give her a chance to be with in show atmosphere again, as she had so many times tried to jump into car when we were leaving to shows...when I started all the 'mission impossible' to get her fit enough to be shown in a month's time, I many times thought it was no sense in entering such a fat oldie..but finally few days before show I noticed she did get slim enough and coat organised rather well!! Gosch how she run with proudness and ease in breed ring and later on in fina ring..and this 'mission impossible' ended up that she was 3. best bitch and Best in Show veteran!!! BIS veteran judge was Matti Luoso.

'Fairy' Adamant's So Far So Good was in super condition she as well, like Sophie, just in time before big Helsinki Winner show weekend. She gave hard competition to Sophie and was 2. best bitch!!! 'Ilona' Adamant's Birthday Party, took the 4. best bitch placement and happily the CC, that made her up to Finnish Show Champion, huge congratulations to co owner Krista, who keeps her diamond so well!!

'Doris', the bounching kangaroo, was told that she could win all the best bitch line up..but now perhaps better to send her home to train a bit more..she took res CC anyway.

Our breeders class, that was 4 best bitches, made quite an impression to judge, and he gave perhaps best ever critique to our group; it really was a heart touching critique, thank you!! Matti Luoso judged BIS breeders group and ours went BIS-2, beaten by a beautiful group of Goldens.
It was entered also two promising puppies from our team and they did a great job as winning BOB and BOS! BOB went to 'Fanny' Adamant's Photo Model and brother 'Ricky' Adamant's Pop The Question took BOS, congratulations to Alex and Heli!!

Weekend 28-29.11.09

It was time to Turku November all breed international show,,somewhat 4500 entries.
ESS judge was Hans Rosenberg from sweden. We had only bitches entered, and they did such a great job as they were 4 best bitches!!! Longest straw was taken by 'Pamela' Adamant's Let 'em Talk, who went BOB and took CACIB. Congratultions to Antti!!
Sophie Adamant's Let Me See followed her sister as 2. best bitch and took res CACIB, when young bounching 'Doris' Goldmoore's Make It Happen, had to run some 6 or 8 rounds in quality judging before judge could say something about her movements.. well thanks to patient judge, Doris went to 3. best bitch and won her 3. CC! Gloria followed her and was of course jumping, too, as the best friend was running in front of her..but she took 4. place in best bitch with res CC! Ilona, Adamant's Birthday Party, was 2. after Gloria in open class, and joined in to our breeders group with those other A-girls, and group went BEST IN SHOW in honour ring!!! Judge there was Saija Juutilainen, Finland. It was a great win indeed, thanks to everyone who were with it!!!

Couple of weeks in Jyväskylä International all breed show we also had a nice day. Our Breeders group was in heavy competition picked up in to 6 best finalists. Sophie was BB-2 with res CACIB and Gloria BB-3 with res CC, Doris was nicely EXC 2 in big junior class.

Weekend 7-8.12.09

co owner of "Pamela" Adamant's Let 'Em Talk, Antti Hokkanen, travelled this weekend to Estonia and Tartto international all breed shows. He kindy took also "Wijami" Adamant's Take It Easy with him.And the trip was successfull, as both days Wijami and Pamela took BOB and BOS, Wiljami was the one who won BOB...and both took 2 x CACIB, 2 x CC and finished their C.I.B (International Beauty Champion)titles and also Est Ch titles! It means there are now 36 International Champions bred by us..so the aim to have one Int Ch for each breeding year keeps on track:)
Thank you Antti and also Marja and Eero for putting Wiljami in top condition for this purpose to come true, huge congrats to all concerned!!
8.11.09 I packed "Gloria" Adamant's Gloria Swanson and "Doris" Goldmoore's Make It Happen to car and drove to Valkeala group show, where Johan Juslin judged ESS.
"Doris" behaved enough to win another CC in her 2. show and was BB-2, when Gloria was BB-3 and took reserv CC!

After a loong, one month, show break, it was time to pack car again and travel to traditional International All Breed Seinäjoki show 24-25.10.09! 48 ESS entered to breed specialist Helene Björkman, "Barecho" kennel, Sweden, and over 3500 entries in whole show.
It is traditionally the final show to count in Top Dog/breeder/veteran of the year list..I dont yet know 'Sophie's Adamant's Let Me see's final placement but before this show she was sitting on honourable 8. place!!

Finally in this show it was time to debute officialy for our young and wild girl, 'Doris' Goldmoore's Make It Happen.
She took the ring litterally by storm and went to win top quality best bitch class, took her first CC and BOS, where she was beaten by Swedish Champion male. "Doris" seems to have most lovely show attitude and plenty of 'that something'..even if poor handler is still in kind of trouble trying desperately to get her settled somehow...and the slippery ground did not help us or anyone else a bit, but I do can imagine how she will look like when settled and trotting around some day in the future in a big ring on the green grass...;-)

Sisters 'Pamela' and 'Sophie' (A. Let em Talk and A. Let Me See) made a great job too, and were placed as bb-3 + res CACIB (Pamela) and bb-4.
Our breeders class was BOB and went later in big final ring to win BIS-2 under Cristian Stavarache from Romania. Our group was made of girl power: Sophie, Pamela, Gloria and Lady. Thanks everyone who made this win possible!!!
The only male entered from our team was 'Zeta' Adamant's Lucky Strike, who did an excellent job after long show break and was 2. best male with res CACIB!

Sophie's young son 'Armas' Adamant's Harrison Ford did also well, as he took 2. place in best dog and CC + res CACIB. Super Weekend in Joensuu double show,
all breeds and International all breeds show 15-16.8.09.09

It was a dream weekend in every aspect..even the rain and mud on second day did mean luck to us, since usually our most unforgettable show successes have arrived with most awful weather!!!

To cut it all short, there were entered 4 adult Adamant girls both days and the little Doris puppy, Goldmoore's Make It Happen.
First day ESS judge was Ove Germundson, Sweden, second day Elena Ruskovaara, Finland. Group judge first day was Hans Lehtinen, second day Blaz Kavcic, Slovenia and on the second day (the international show) BIS was judged by Marija Kavcic, Slovenia. BIS breeder judge was 1. day Vilmos Kardos, Hungary, 2.day Hans Lehtinen, Finland and BIS junior judge on Int. day was Paavo Mattila, Finland.

"Sophie" Adamant's Let Me See took BOB both days (again!) and went under Hasse Lehtinen BIG-2, second day she was loaded with super energy, and made her best ever performance in final competitions, running all lead long ahead me looking like she owned the ring and all the globe, too, and she went BIG and BIS-2!!!! Between these two competitons she was leading our breeders class to BIS under Hans Lehtinen, and we also had BIS breeders class on the 1. show day!!!
Cause it was raining heavily while BIS breeder judging was going on second day, her coat was alover wet and muddy when she went to BIS final... but she is a beauty also that way and took BIS-2 placement by storm! What a lovely experience it was to run after her as she herself knew exactly what to do there to impress!!

Other girls made a great job, too, Sawanne Adamant's La Dolce Vita was 2. best bitch both days and took CACIB on 2. day, "Gloria" Adamant's Gloria Swanson was 3. best bitch first day and took her 7. CC, 2. day she went BIS-4 junior under Paavo Mattila!
"Ilona" Adamant's Birthday Party won her class both days and was BB-4 2. day and took res CC.

Little Doris was wild and naughty again, of course!! and went BOB puppy both days
br> Henry's son New Design's X-Ample for You took CC both days, and was BOS 1. day and BIS-3 Junior, congratulations Heli!

Let the pics tell the rest...thank you everyone who helped me and thank you friends of lovely company on show place and congratulations to all!!!

Weekend 1-2-8.09

Photo Jaana Heiskari

on Saturday afternoon I packed Henry, Sophie, Doris and Gloria in to the car and we took off to Iisalmi International all breed show.
Boy was it hard after 5 hour drive to carry everything to 3. floor, when hotel did not have any lift..and later on we had perhaps 'a couple' of more problems with all little things,,but who cares about little things when there is nice show to wait for.
Without breakfast we left the hotel and turned to the show area, which was nice and it was lovely to see Sophie's sister Sawanne after a long break! Doris was again BOB puppy with a lovely critique and yes, there seems allways to be a note of her sparkling happiness in critiques..now she was "full of temperament"..yes she really is! Then Henry went and won his class and was 3. best male. Gloria Adamant's Gloria Swanson did a lovely performance now and won intermediate class and she later on was 3. best bitch with her 6. CC! Two best bitches were beautiful sisters Sophie and Sawanne, Sophie was 1.+ CACIB and Sawanne 2.+ res CACIB and then Sophie went to win her 41. BOB! Later on we showed our BOB breeders group in BIS final and it went nicely BIS-4! Breed judge was Marija Kavcic from Slovenia and in BIG final judge was Eeva Rautala, who placed Sophie highly as BIG-2!!
The oldie "Tessu" Adamant's Damask Rose was BOB veteran again and shortcut in to BIS finalists, day before she went BIS-2 veteran and best bitch-3 in Kiiminki Group show

Weekend 25-26.7.09

On Saturday the youngsters 'Unelma' Adamant's Perfect Dolly and 'Armas' Adamant's Harrison Ford were packed in the same car and they took a trip to Kihniö Group show, where Harry Tast judged ESS. They both had a wonderful day, as Armas took his 2. CC and BOS when Unelma took CC went BOB! Unelma impressed the judge with her reay easy movements and plenty of drive,,and she went nearly all the way and won BIG and BIS-2! Lots of congratulations to Mira and Jenina, you did a great job with your youngsters!

'Vellu' Adamant's Ivor Novello packed for Latvia trip this weekend and on Sunday he had his great day!: he won CC, BOB, BIG and finally BIS-2 under German judge Wilfried Peper.
He also finished his Latvian Ch title to add to his impressive title list, well done Hanna and vellu!!

"Sophie", "Doris" and I were in Mikkeli International all breed show, where Sophie took her 16. best bitch win in row and took one more CACIB to her credit and was BOS, when the "Sweet and Naughty" Doris aka Goldmoore's Make It Happen made another performance full of speed and happiness and was BOB puppy again.

27.6.09 it was held traditional Hämeenlinna all breed show, where ESS judge was Anne Livo Buvik "Stormbird's" ESS, Norway.
Our girls "Sophie" and her daughter "Gloria" were entered there and what a lovey day they had!
Sophie continued her great winning ways also here, taking her 10. BOB win this year!! But Gloria did not bad either, as she was 2. best bitch with lovely comments from judge and she took her 4. CC!

It was truly hot while BOB was chosen but soon after that begun rain and Sophie, who had stolen too much food before this show, had much better energy to run in Group final, where she got a lovely placement as she won BIG-2 after a lovely cocker!

So today we can have our planned grill party and no need to go BIS final which is today!

Both girls did again good job, mother Adamant's Let Me See won one more BOB and CACIB to her credit and made even a shortcut in Group final even if she did not love this time to run like she can as it was first really hot summer show day for us! Daughter Adamant's Gloria Swanson was 3. best bitch with res-CC

6-7.6.09
What A Great Weekend AGAIN!!! and once again super success in one more Specialty show!!

6.6.09 I packed only young 'Gloria' Adamant's Gloria Swanson into the car for a show,,mother Sophie had for her great disappointment to be at home coat put in oil to concentrate to the Springer Cub's Main Speciality show next day...boy how I was totally nervous all time when we were on our show trip with Gloria, that Sophie somehow though gets the chance to steal all the food in our house!! ESS judge in Salo all breed show was changed and they were judged by Kirsti Louhi. Gloria enjoyed her performance a lot and won one more CC and Best of Breed!
When we arrived back at home, I finally could breathe again peacefully, as I noticed Sophie had not find her way to locked dog food or any other food resources..

Also in Saturday was a show in Poland for hunting breeds, and 'Billy' Adamant's Blaze a Trail, 10 months, won his 3. BOB Junior win and was BIS-3 junior! He now got his Polish Junior Champion title, well done!!!

Next day was a lovely sunshine but not too hot,,ideal dog show weather!

'Sophie' Adamant's Let Me See was full of energy from morning to the night and was even 'singing' in her crate when it took so long time before She Herself was taken in to the ring. She was absolutely a joy to show, she showed herself to perfection and I only had to follow, and she went Best of Breed and later on she was BIS-2!!! Adult ESS, except juniors and veterans, were judged by Diane Gunn 'Strathnaver' UK. Veteran, puppy and junior class judge was Colin Woodward 'Wadeson, UK. 'Doris' Goldmoore's Make It Happen, 5 months, was another girl of our team who was exceptional lovely to show with her all time wagging tail and super attitude.. eagerly waiting she gets enough age for more showing.

'Henry' Adamant's Take Your Hopes was shown after a long show break. He did a good job as taking again Specialty CC, now he has won 3 times CC in a big Specialty show, from judges Bob Jackson, Glenn Miller and now Dinae Gunn, all wel known breeders from UK. He was also BD-2. Sophie's sister 'Pamela' Adamant's Let 'em Talk made a come back from maternal duties and not bad at all, as she was 2. best bitch! Only 4 bitches all together took an 'excellent' in this show, so we are very proud, that half of them are these two lovely sisters! Also 'Fairy' Adamant's So Far So Good made her comeback after her puppies, who now are 9 weeks, she did win her big class of 9, but got only VG, so we have to wait little bit more time to drink sparkling wine for her CH title,,needs only one ticket more. Also 'Ilona' Adamant's Birthday Party won her class, intermediate class, but she is right now totaly naked and got VG, too. Also Junior bitch class was won by a Henry daughter, 'Hilda' Wildomar's Hit It Big, but she also got only VG, like everyone else in Junior classes did (about 20 entries). As BOB junior competition is inofficial, the Trophy for BOB junior was given even if no excelents reached, and it went to 'Hilda'.
'Vellu' Adamant's Ivor Novello did again a good job, as he was 3. with excellent in championclass and ater on he continued in BIS hunting merited dog ring and was BIS-2!

We took into our breedersclass Gloria, Sophie, Pamela and Henry, and it went first BOB and later on Best in Show!

Thanks to everyone for a nice day and congratulations to all who did wel..and thanks for all who helped in so many things!!

During this weekend also In Canada it was shown an adamant dog, namely 'Versace' Adamant's True Fashion, who also had now his 7. years birthday. Versace won BOB and later he was BIG-2, huge congratulations!!

Some diverse news that have not yet been updated.
'Tessu' Adamant's Damask Rose has been winning well all the spring through, despite of her nearly 12 years age. She won also In Kalajoki Group show, where she was Best of Breed and BOB, BIS-3 veteran, Markku Santamäki judged. Well done and lovely to get the photo, where she looks like she indeed is in super condition!

'Nyytti' Adamant's Rumours No More has won her 6. CC in South Africa, well done Camille &co!
'Sophie' Adamant's Let Me See took one more CACIB to her credit in Helsinki Aptus show, where it was sadly (because of death) judge change, and Sophie was BOS. Now she has won alltogether 35 BOB wins and 7 BOS, so she has been best bitch 42 times..so far.

Lots of updates waiting now, as our computer went broken and new had to be purcahsed,,but it is not that easy to get all going with all new! Little by little I will try anyway somehow to cover all super news that have been landing to us latey..Adamant's Springer owners have been very active in shows, obedience, agility, tracking and achieved just wonderful results!!!

Weekend 25-26.4.09

It was held two big international all breed shows that weekend, and after hard thinking I decided to take part in both, even if it was a long way from lahti to Vaasa. It was all worth for that and Sophie 'Adamant's Let me See managed to win Best of Breed in both of them!! She also achieved great placement in Lahti Group final as she was BIG-2 under Hannele Jokisilta.
Sophie's son 'Armas' Adamant's Harrison Ford managed to win Junior class in both shows and in Lahti he was best Male and BOS with CC!
Also sister 'Gloria' Adamant's Gloria Swanson won Junior class in both and was BB-3 and BB-4 in best bitch. Adamant's take It Easy was BD-4 in Lahti and our breeders group was shortcut in 6 finalists in great final in Lahti..in Vaasa we did not have enough handlers to go in to big ring.
In Vaasa Christer Lang judged ESS and in Lahti Rune Fagerström

'Doris' Goldmoore's Make It Happen has finally come to Finland! It was love at the first sight when I saw this lovely puppy at kennel Goldmoore at 6 weeks age, when I was travelling to mate Fairy to Doris' father, 'Sammy' Goldmoore's Gold Dreamer. Doris mother is Ch Goldmoore's Delicious Angel. Doris is an adorable puppy in every way, she has such a nice happy temperament and doesnt take a stress of anything. And she is a joy for the eyes..we hope all the best for her future here at Adamants! Thank you so much Christina and Michael for letting her move to us!

We had a nice trip 21.3 with the girls Sophie and Gloria to easter Finland, Imatra. Weather was most beautiful spring sunshine and it made the drive pleasant. Poor Gloria was car sick again, though but waked up enough in ring to gain res CC and best bitch-3! Her mum Sophie was in sparkling show mood and enjoyed the more the more she had to run. The floor was way too slippery, but she did not care and I did not fall...so she run all the way to BOB, BIG. Best in Show! and the honour ring was even better than any else! With a loose lead, tail wagging more and more and ..hmm, yes she had noticed she had won 30 kg dog food so of course she looked soo happy!!! Judge was Paavo Mattila, Fin, also in final ring.

Sometimes when you travel you might see something that touch your soul and you just can't forget it..this happened to me when I saw little Doris at 6 weeks age running out of her puppy pen with her lovely sister towards me. I certainly had not any plan at all to import any puppy right now...and tried to be strong enough to not think Doris after I left Sweden having mated Fairy to Doris father Sammy. But there it was, most beautiful picture of how Doris looked and behaved, when I saw her, hanging in my mind everyday..so then after a couple of weeks I just had to ask if she perhaps would like to move to Finland. And yes, she really moves here at Easter time, thank you Christina and Michael so much for letting this little beauty come to us!

Sophie's critique:
" Well presented feminine bitch of excellent type. Lovely feminine head with a nice expression. Excellent reach of neck and layback of shoulders. Good body and topline. Strong hindquarters. Lovely to watch on the move"

We had a nice day in traditional International Tampere all breed show, which this year had it's record entry over 7000!
Judge for ESS was Ann Ingram from Ireland
Pitty so many of our team could not enter because of different reasons, but we did have a few to show though.
It was nice to meet puppy 'Rolle' Adamant's Blues Brother of our latest AI litter, he was 'quite' wild and bounching in the ring and not yet to used to be stacked but boy what a lovely critique he got indeed and won BOB puppy! Nice to notice judge could find his qualities despite of bounching performation.Congratulation to happy owner!
Then I had not any male to show in grown ups; but one Terry-Pamela young boy, Adamant's Perfect World, was entered and Helena did a really nice job with him and he was nicely placed exc2 in intermediate class. Happy 'Gloria' Adamant's Gloria Swanson went next into ring and won a very nice quality junior bitch class of 10! Later she was picked up into 5 best bitches and took a res CC. Then it was the food addict Sophie, Adamant's Let Me See, to show in champion class..she had actually stolen all the meatballs already on the parking place when I was cleaning the poor car sick and food hating daughter's Gloria's crate..so Sophie was not perhaps in her most eager show mood this time, but she did a great job though with her movements and won first champion bitch class and then soon after that BOB.
In final ring the judge came from Netherlands, and he picked Sophie up from a large collection of beautiful BOB winners and Sophie was placed BIG-4!

Gloria's critique:
"Well presented feminine bitch of excellent type. Well balanced head, falls away a little under eyes. Nice expression. Excellent neck and shoulder, body, topline and hindquarters. Very sound on the move with lovely outline"

When I was sitting at ringside of Crufts ESS ring on my nameday, becoming mother 'Fairy' Adamant's So Far So Good attended her last show before her maternal duties time. She was entered to Valkeala group show, where 21 ESS were judged by Leila Kärkäs. Fairy did very well and been on such happy show mood and went to win her 11. CC and was also BOB! BOS, CC and new Champion was made of Wildomar's Fiction Oh No, a son of Adamant's Wind of Change, well done to all!

Adamant's Gloria Swanson 10 months

When there was olny one show held for FCI8 group dogs in Finland in February, of course I could not resist idea of driving there, even if it was not that close to our home. It was a Group show in Laihia, where Harry tast judged the breed, 31 ESS. 'Gloria' Adamant's Gloria Swanson and 'Helmi' Adamant's Greta Garbo were entered to make their debut in official shows, and mom 'Sophie' Adamant's Let Me See followed. Even if it was quite cold in there, young Gloria did enjoy her running in the ring and got a lovely criticue and won junior bitches with exc, sister Helmi followed as 2. exc. Both got really lovely critiques. Sophie was hungry and very showy, and also got a lovely critique and won her class. Then Sanna Vartianen came to help with Gloria, and I was unsure how will mom's little baby follow anyone else, but no doubt she did, actually 'too well' ;-) as Gloria won all the bitches!! Sophie had to be happy with her 2. best bitch placement after her 10 months old daughter. For our big happiness also Helmi was placed in best bitch class, as number 4. with reserv CC! well done Tiina with Helmi! Then the BOB competition was done between 2 junior class dogs, namely another Henry child, Hightide's You're The Top had won males and CC, and then Gloria and he run still around the ring and Gloria won BOB. Paavo Mattila judged the big combined FCI7/8 Group and baby Gloria was shortcut to finalists! Not bad start for one so young, who just before the show dropped tons of her coat! Judge was especially impressed with Gloria's movement, and actually best bitches run 5 rounds in row, and on the 5. round there was only Gloria and Sophie left and while Sanna & Gloria just got their steps longer, we 'the older couple' felt this starts to be too much for us..

'Sophie' Adamant's Let Me See was invited to Champion of Champions gala yesterday, as she was the most winning ESS and 3. best of all group FCI dogs on Kennel Club's TOP SHOW DOG FINLAND 2008 list, but we did not enter this time though to this competition. Also family Heikkuri's veteran bitch 'Tessu' Adamant's Damask Rose (11,5 years) was invited to Veteran of Veterans competition to this great gala, but as the driving from North to South had been 10 + hours there and same back, Tessu was not then entered either.

Lots of congratulations to Vellu's (Adamant's Ivor Novello) talent owner Hanna Hyypiä for Vellu's great year and achievements in all sorts of dog sports!! Vellu was again Top Obedience ESS of The Year, now 2008, among his all other terrific achievements.
We wish you all the best luck for this becoming year's all challenges!!

The weekend 24-25.1.09 was a truly unforgettable one, in good and bad!

It begun with busy Friday..so I thought better to bath dogs already morning time, so I dont need to do it when I come very late home. But the little Gloria, who was meant to have her official debut, had of course made herself dirty again..so new bath had to be done and jacket on. Well, clever she had managed to get rid of the jacket at night time, so she had slept on it and it did not dry up...when I took Gloria out of crate at show place I saw it was something wrong with the tail..of course she had got then a water tail. So no idea to go in to the ring at all and that was the 'debut' of her..just mother in law got so happy she got her for care over this weekend, as we went after the show to Sweden. Otherwise this show, Turku Top Dog Show International, went excellent for our team. 'Zeta' Adamant's Lucky Strike won males and took CACIB, Gloria's brother 'Armas' did make his debut (even if he had stolen the freeze and got an injury of the lock he ruined on his greedy nose..talk about greedy family!!) and he was 4. best male with res CC. 'Sophie' Adamant's Let Me see was flying in breed ring, like a dream she went and she was BOB with one more CACIB to her credit. Also other girls were in lovely show mood and 'Fairy' Adamant's So far So Good was 2. best bitch with res CACIB and her 10. CC, when junior girl 'Ilona' Adamant's Birthday Party was 3. best bitch with res CC! A. Perfect Look was exc2 and A. Perfect Dolly was exc.3.
We took 'Zeta', 'Sophie', 'Armas' and 'Ilona' into our breeder group, that got a nice critique:

"Fantastic group that consists of 3 combinations. Excellent specimen of the breed. Exceptionally high quality group. Truly magnificent breeding job. Heartfelt congratulations." Breed judge was Matti Tuominen, Finland

So little later we went to final ring under the spotlights of huge show. Already when running first side of big ring I noticed something went suddenly wrong with Zeta, who put his head and tail down. Clapping of public made that I did not hear yet anything strange, before we stopped. Then I heard the awful stridor of Zeta trying desperately to breathe. I quickly understood he had got a piece of meat ball stucked in his trachea. You seldom feel yourself so lonely than I did on that moment under the spotlights, I understood it is too long way to run anywhere and try to get help, but I had to try it myself and one of us also noticed the dramatic situation, so we did all we could, kind of 'Heimlich maneuver' I finally at least tried and suddenly something did help! He started to breathe again, what a release. Soon after that we were picked into 8 or was it 10 finalist groups, cant remember much from such aside things but it was anyhow nice achievement of our wild young (and greedy!) group. Thank you everyone!!

Day continued with FCI 8 Group final. Already in collect ring I noticed we might have a "problem"..what to do if Sophie wins Group?? when tickets to Sweden were booked and Turku BIS would be next day. Namely the Group judge really seemed to love Sophie from first sight and adored her "such a lovely head" and smiled so much to her. Sophie and the top winning Portuguese Water Dog had still to run one more final round together before choice was done (by Group judge Will de Vries-Hoogland, from Netherlands) and the win went happily to Portuguese and Sophie was second; talk about the best possible placement in this situation, we were so happy!! and so the adventure was ready to continue..

After show we had a couple of hours leisure time before boat to Sweden was supposed to leave, so I visited Antti, Pamela and Irene, who live there close by. Suddenly when I came out of car or on stairs, cant remember, but anyway suddenly I felt like there was a knife sticked in my knee. There was not any such but the pain was awful, and next morning after boat trip it was an infernal pain in the knee. I hardly could go out with the doggies to get them do their morning duties, so I only took one by one. Every try to move took a double time, so suddenly we noticed we have actually a huge hurry to show place, and the end part of car driving really did not help that. We were first shown a parking place somewhat 700 meters away from the building where show was..could not even imagine to do such long way with such a knee!
So to the next officer I told my knee is broken please show us a place closer..so then we got lot of advice how to get closer and lost all the way twice...we were getting really stressy about this all, especially when it was also raining, how in life we ever get all dogs and ourselves in to the show in time?? Finally we at least found the right building among many other same looking buildings, that was supposed to be the show place...then there was no more time to more questions and I just drove..just two meters from the main door I stopped and noticed it very quickly that it was the only place where from I had at least a theoretic possibility to get me and dogs and crate etc to the ringside. It still took awful lot of time and effort with not working leg, but finally there I was with the dogs and my first question to 'neighbours' was if they had any pain killers as I still could not even imagine me running with such a knee in the ring. Not any painkiller was helpful and all the efforts to get knee fixed made the pain even more infernal, so then I had only one option left: just to decide to go and bite my teeth instead of screaming..and go.
'Zeta' is a wild happy dog, not so often shown, and a bit diffult to handle anyway because he wants to jump of happiness and has no time to stand still, so now I really had a challenge there! There we went into the ring then and it was a kind of via dolorosa all through, and I hardly can remember how did it feel like when I got the Swedish CC rosette in to my hand, tears were perhaps as much of pain as of happiness. Anyway, this was 'Zeta's 3. trip to Sweden and his 3. CC in Sweden, so it was not too difficult or how? The other 2 CC s he took in prestigious shows, too, one from WW Circuit Show in Stockholm area from breed specialist Gareth Lawler, Uk, the 2. in Stora Stockholm int from Spaniel specialist Kari Granaas-Hansen 'Carillo',Norway. and now the magic 3. in entry 0f 134 again, actually in all these shows entry was like this!, from breed specialist Frank Bjerklund. 'Westaway', Norway.
Then my knee was really finished after some rounds with Zeta and I still had Sophie...who was full of her best energy when I took her out of crate. So the unbalanace between us was biggest possible and as Sophie tried to run flying way and I hardly could get a step anymore, Sophie there front of me looked more like a helicopter than an ESS..we were happy she managed to take a placement in best bitch though: 4. best bitch!

On the boat finally after all trouble, speed and danger through weekend it was only the song 'Hard Day's Night' sounding in my ears..we really earned the lovely dinner and relax after all!

Good news from Germany: 'Filou' Adamant's Birthday Boy has got German Junior Champion title. He has also had his eyes checked clear and hips B1. Filou lives in kennel Soestbach

From our latest 11 adult aged litters since 2004 there are 29 x rayed with results 25 x A-A, 1xA-B, 1x B1-B1, and only 2 hips has shown signs of dysplasy from the rest 2, whose other hip has been ok as well. So our Hd % has been lately under 7.

Most winning English Springer Spaniel in this Kennel Club's Top Show Dog list was amazingly our 'Sophie' Adamant's Let Me See, despite of her maternal duties this year!! Because of the nice placement on the Top Dog list Sophie got an invitation to Champion of Champions gala show in January

She was placed also 3. in Springer Club's Top Ess list this year. She picked 10 more BOB wins, 2 more BIG wins to her credit along the year and many BIG placements, CACIBs, and was made up to Swe& Norwegian Show Champion, one special top moment was when she took her last Swedish CC in World winner show just 77 days after her litter was born.

"Magnificent bitch with beautiful lines of highest quality. Very beautiful head and expression. Beautiful neck and topline. Excellent body, bone and feet. Well angulated and well muscled rear. Moves with lovely carriage, with long easy step. Excellent coat quality. Well presented".

Thank you all who have made another successfull year for our breeding job with your Adamant's Springers!
We must still count a bit more what was achieved during the year but it will be around 36 x Best of Breed, around 40 CC s to 11 different A dogs, around 20 CACIBs etc.
Without active onwers of our bred this had not been possible, so we send sincere thanks to everyone who have been part of this!!
